When you take a look at the picture, you can see three different circles.
This represents a target of what you can and can’t control.
The bullseye in the center represents things that you can control.
This can be related to your lifestyle decisions such as diet, exercise, effort, behavior, emotions, and thoughts.
The next circle stands for influence.
These are the people in your life; co-workers, teammates, family, etc…
This factor often leads to outcomes you can’t control.
The last outer circle represents things you can’t control.
This is your environment, past, future, and your “what-if” scenarios.
Our challenge is we blame or try to change the two outer circles yet they are out of our control.
Focusing on these areas will tend to lead to a feeling of “burnout” - tired, frustrated, lack of focus, anxiety, etc.
We want to help you recognize what you can control and consistently focus on this area of your life so that you can create sustainable change for the better.
Your goal is to aim for the bullseye in your life by identifying what you can control and taking action to manage them at the highest and most efficient value.
ACTION STEP: Identify the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that you can control in your life to make a difference in lasting change.
